In addition to our rigorous academic curriculum, we feel that it is extremely important to address our students’ social and emotional needs (i.e. self-awareness, empathy, teamwork, leadership, etc…). Therefore, we have implemented numerous character development programs that serve as a foundation for both personal and academic success.
KaleidoEye – Lenses of Leadership
CEE is excited about our KaleidoEye leadership program. KaleidoEye is an innovator on the stage of youth leadership providers. Mike Sissel, a former Kyrene School District teacher and co-author of Teaching Hope: Stories from the Freedom Writer Teachers, visits our school regularly facilitating our youth to become designers and leaders of their own lives. With laser focus on self-awareness and self-management skills, our goal is to provide youth with effective “lenses” to filter modern day concerns and proactively create their best self. Energy Bus
CEE is always striving to improve our culture in a positive way. This year our school is focusing on the ‘Energy Bus’ by John Gordon. Learn more about the Energy Bus and find activities to do with your child here: http://www.energybuskids.com/.
FISH Philosophy
Originated in Seattle, Washington at the world famous Pike’s Place Market, the FISH philosophy has rapidly spread to thousands of businesses and schools throughout the country. The philosophy is based on four key practices: Be There, Play, Make Their Day, and Choose Your Attitude. This program serves as a nice compliment to Character Counts! and helps bring the six pillars of character to life. For more information, please visit the FISH website at www.charthouse.com.
Teach Like a Champion
We are excited to announce the professional development program that our CEE teachers implement into their classroom procedures. This program will help guide our teachers as they create a culture that supports every student as they become “college ready” and prepare for the world outside CEE.
CEE joins other schools around the nation as they strive to grow students that are as dedicated to learning as educators are to teaching. Our entire staff is committed to helping our students become great leaders in the school as well as outside CEE.
