Gobble Gobble… It’s Turkey Trot time!!!!!

We are so excited for our 2nd Annual Turkey Trot FUNdraiser Run/Walk event!  Last year was an INCREDIBLE success, we raised $6,000 with a little less than 25% participation of our student body!  It was a new event to our students and we know that it is a busy time of year, but for those of you that participated and attended the Turkey Trot you can help us spread the word about how much fun it was and how easy it was to raise these funds!  

Our goal is to have 100% participation of our student body in 2018 – this is our BIGGEST fundraiser for the year!  With your support and participation, we can reach our 2018 goal of raising $10,000, or more!  Last spring, the PTO invested $10,000 into 2 new mobile computer carts, about 24 new laptop computers, 50 new sets of headphones and mice and about $2,000 for new playground/recess games and equipment.  Our goal this year is to provide another large impactful resource to our students, which will be decided on after the fall fundraisers/events.  Teachers and parents have brought ideas to the PTO like new computers to replace the out of date ones, more in-classroom computers, an Apple iPAD mobile cart that can be shared among the entire school or even a rock climbing wall!  Of course, PTO funds are regularly used to support field trips, student-family enrichment events, teacher appreciation, and more – without continuing to raise these funds our PTO would not be able to support all of the big and little things throughout the year!  

Each student will have the opportunity to seek pledges from friends and family in support of their participation in the Turkey Trot.  If the student is unable to attend the Turkey Trot event on Nov. 17th that does not mean they are disqualified from participating in fundraising and earning prizes!  In fact, we will offer a make-up run/walk on Tue. Nov. 20th that can be done during school and each student that obtains pledges will be eligible for all of the prizes! 

NEW THIS YEAR… we will have the ability to receive your donation pledges ONLINE!  While, checks and cash will still be the preferred donation method (no processing fees) we are excited to be able to broaden our opportunities for donations from friends and family afar or those that simply prefer to do an online donation!  🙂  Tax receipts for online donations are automatically generated for the donor, receipts for cash/check donations are available upon request.  Donors can go to our main Turkey Trot fundraising page and search for students by first name and grade level. Students also have the ability to personally share their individual fundraising page with friends/family via email, text, Facebook, etc.  Students can also upload a photo to their individual page, which is encouraged to help donors recognize the students’ page!
